Willow is chipped automatically during harvesting. The forager blows the chips into a trailer, which unloads to form a woodchip pile. The material is either used immediately for various applications or dried for renewable biomass boiler fuel. Woodchip is typically stored outdoors to dry naturally, or under cover once dried.
